Free Waltz Workshop taught by Peg Hesley

Peg will teach a basic class with emphasis on ‘flow and glide’ as well as the importance of the 4th beat. She’ll work on frame and how to lead, how to do a simple turning waltz following the line of dance, managing corners and traffic, simple inside and outside turns, and how to get the lady back on her lead foot. Twirling is an optional embellishment to the figures in contra dancing and can add to the "thrill factor" of a wonderful dance. But twirling also can ruin the timing and flow of that wonderful dance if not used appropriately. In a workshop setting, we'll explore the what, when, how and who in the Art of the Twirl.
